This article provokes excitement and hope. I hope the vesey thing pans out. Forwards are set if vesey signs and makes a respectable impact. If not, then maybe Griffith is ready for a full time gig. Then whether they get a dman now or later, it will help having morrow out their full time to see if he will remain with the club long term. I hope they wait till the deadline or next year's draft to acquire a Barrie or shat. Roll with chara Krug quaid liles k Miller and morrow. And if / when there is an injury or alternatively a disappointment in morrow's game, C. Miller can swap in. I have faith C. Miller will be a top 4, so I'm hoping they keep him in ahl for development and not the press box.

Good article, Ty!

I haven't been this excited for a Bruins season in a while. This group of forwards is the best we've seen in a long time. I believe this group of forwards is better than the group that won the cup. Add strong goaltending to the mix and I think we'll be a hard team to beat.

Like you, I believe defense is the weakest position. I do believe that Fowler can be had at a decent price and Shattenkirk will be a UFA next summer so the Bruins should not go crazy.

Imagine this :

Fowler-Shattenkirk
Chara-K. Miller
Krug-McQuaid
Liles

I think Schultz is intriguing. The atmosphere in Edmonton has to be toxic. There has been too much talent for the team just to continue to be that bad. Yes they have holes and excuses blah blah blah. But Some of those "superkids" have not done much. Even Hall never broke 30 goals.

No, I'm not. Our centre depth is much stronger not to mention that players like Marchand, Bergeron and Krejci are all better. Seguin didn't play a big role in that cup run. Lucic and Horton were important players but I prefer the group we have now.

Seriously, you'd take Kelly and Campbell over Backes? I'd take Belesky and Pastrňák before Ryder/ Recchi (at that point in his career).

Also, no need for insults.

dude, grow a pair. no one insulted you. do you have buddies that you talk sports with? no one has said "are you out of your mind?"

and if you take belesky and pastrnak over recchi and ryder you don't win a cup. belesky doesn't produce points and pastrnak is unproven and would likely give you a stat line like seguin did.

can i get some help on this please?

It's embarrassing that people still use that line. Clearly you've never had anyone in your family suffer from mental health issues.

Wow how quickly we forget
Nathan Horton was as Clutch as it gets in the Playoffs.
Not to mention he was ALWAYS willing to stick up for his teammates

Although If they can pull off adding Fowler & Shattenkirk, then YES. I'm drinking the Kool-Aid. However as the D lines up now. They will finish in the middle of the league and out oF the playoffs yet again

Dont we get a 2nd round pick next draft from the Chiarelli signing? I think it was one of the last of the executive compensation to be grandfathered in before they got rid of it.

So we got that going for us......

Yup I'd agree... I think trying to rate anyone based on their time in Edmonton is impossible... that place is the Twilight Zone of hockey.

Schultz could be an interesting option... but they would probably have to sign him for a couple of years. James Wisniewski is still out there too... and could probably be snagged on a 1 year deal. The biggest problem is our blue line is already full... but we still need more guys. It's such a weird position to be in. They need to move either one of Miller or McQuaid. And if there are more options next year, then is it smart to tie up Schultz for 3-4 years and then have Shattenkirk/Fowler/Brodin/Dumba/etc... available mid season or next year?

I think the offense is looking great, but the back end is such a poop show it's kind of ridiculous. I can't believe I'm going to have to watch Chara get torched for two more seasons and then listen to everyone talk about how great of a shut down defender he is.

And knowing the Oilers hopefully that's like a late, late first round pick!

They we're not. I'll take 2016 Marchand, Bergeron and Krejci before what they were back then. The addition of Backes makes this team hard to play against.

The point is he didn't in Edmonton. Schultz could be a reclamation project with high reward.
